About Our Committees

Member participation is vital to the mission of RSCK. Our members contribute a diverse range of skills and experiences to the daily operations of RSCK by serving on various committees.

  • Eligibility: Committee membership is exclusively available to RSCK members.
  • Formation: Each year, committees are established under the newly elected RSCK leadership.
  • Solicitation: During this time, we actively seek members to join committees; however, it may also be possible to join some committees outside the designated solicitation period.

Your interest in participating in an RSCK committee is always appreciated. New members joining RSCK throughout the year are encouraged to consider serving on a committee.

Committee FAQs

Why serve on a committee?

Committees help shape the direction of our Association and its policies. If you want your voice to be heard and want to contribute to the decision-making process, our committees are a great forum for debate and discussion. Experience in committees is beneficial for those interested in seeking future leadership roles.

What are the benefits of volunteering?

Association involvement establishes that you care about your profession and your community. Serving on a committee is a great way to enhance your professional growth and provide service to your peers. Research shows that members who are involved in association committees are: better informed, better networked, and better prepared to act on trends and regulations impacting their business.

When do they meet?

Most committee meetings take place monthly, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm and are generally held at RSCK. Meeting times typically remain the same year after year, unless members of a committee vote otherwise during their first meeting of the year.

Attendance Policy

Absence from more than three (3) regularly scheduled meetings within a committee year (January 1 through December 31) is considered a resignation from the committee. If this occurs, the member may petition to be reinstated during the next committee meeting. The other committee members will then vote to allow or deny this request.

Committee Appointment

Committee appointments begin on January 1st and end on December 31st, with most committees having a term of either one or two years (see below).

Please note when applying:

  • Committees may have a limited number of available appointments.
  • The Professional Standards Committee and Grievance Committee require specific experience.
  • Business Partner Members are welcome to apply for the Community Involvement, Diversity Equity & Inclusion, Professional Development, and Your Professional Network Committees.
  • Members can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms on a committee. If you have completed two consecutive terms, please consider applying for a different committee.
  • If you are currently serving on a committee and would like to volunteer again for the same committee, you may reapply by completing the committee volunteer application form below. Please note that new committee members with take priority, to ensure fairness.
